John Colon Propst John Colon Propst, 84, of 116 Lanark Drive, Casar, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on November 24, 1929 to the late Dorsey Propst and Elvena Walker Propst. He was retired from Drexel Heritage after forty three years and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church where he was a deacon for fifty years. He loved to watch NASCAR and loved working in the garden, on cars and lawnmowers. He was a do it yourselfer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Frances Parker Propst, and two brothers, Luico & JB Propst. He is survived by his son Mitchell Propst and wife Naomi of Casar; daughter, Diane McCauley and husband Steve of Casar; four grandchildren, Jonathan Propst, Joshua Propst and wife Stephanie, Jason Duty and Celeste McCauley; five great grandchildren, Jacob Propst, Alanna Propst, Kristin Propst, Zachary Propst, and Elijah Propst; brother, LD Propst of Fallston, and sister, Ruth Smart of Connelly Springs. Visitation will be Friday from 6:30PM until 8:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday 2:00PM at Olive Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Terrill Crump and Mitchell Propst officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Olive Grove Baptist Church 6418 Casar Rd.
