Gaffney - John Derrick Dover, 32, of 391 Goucher Green Bethel Road, passed away Monday, August 17th, 2026.

Born in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of Billy Ford Dover (Tammy) and the late Judy Mullinax Owens. He was employed by the Sanitation Department of Cherokee County. He was a member of Harvest Time Assembly of Kings Mountain.

In addition to his father, John is survived by his step-father, Ronald Owens; his brothers, Billy Dover Jr., Ronnie Orr, Chris Dover, Cody Wells, and Justin Wells; his sisters, Jaime Cole, Tracy Oates, Betty Ivy, Beth Rojas, and Carrie Wells.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Grace Dover and Eddie and Margaret Mullinax.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 24, 2026 from 11:00-1:00 at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Cecil Dover and Rev. Sheila Griggs officiating. Jackie Dover Jr., Charles Dover, Ronnie Orr, John Lipscomb, John Whiting, and Francisco Rojas will serve as pallbearers. Stevie Lingerfelt and Toby Lingerfelt will serve as honorary pallbearers.
