John Huskey Jr., 83, of Shelby, NC, passed away on May 2, 2026 at Autumn Care in Cornelius, NC.

Born on May 14, 1942, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John Huskey, Sr. and Fannie Petty Huskey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Mintz Huskey.

He is survived by his children, Frederick Huskey (Candace), Sylvia King (Lonnie), Dianne Huskey, Kristina Huskey, Carlotta Hunt, Dawn Hunt, six granddaughters and two great grandsons.In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his four siblings, a cherished aunt,a trusted companion, and many otherfamily members and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church.. Burial was held at the church cemetery.
