John Joseph Watts, 74, of Lawndale passed away on October 29, 2026 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC.

John was born on June 1, 1952 in Cleveland County to the late John Lee Watts and Maggie Lorene Chpaman Watts. He was retired as the owner and operator of Watts Roofing and was a member of Charity Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Watts.

John is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Ballew and Tammy Watts both of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Ken Watts of Grover; sister, Maudie Beatrice Watts of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Shepherd, Rita Diane Lewis, Amanda Lynn Shirer and Whitney Nicole Gage and seven great-grandchildren, Alliyah Martin, Carter Martin, Mason Gage, Ryan Gage, Carson Gage, Jaxston Scates and J.J. Scates.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
