John Logan Crow
John Logan Crow, a devoted father, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, after battling a short illness. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betsy Jean Crow, and his step-son, Chris Bivins. John retired on January 1, 2019, as Superintendent of Lincoln Correctional Center after faithfully serving for over 30 years. He lit up the room with his smile, laugh, and endless stories. He was an encyclopedia of sports knowledge and a devoted fan of the Cowboys and Yankees. A true grill master and talented cook, his special touch in the kitchen will be deeply missed. John had a gift for caring for others. Whether with family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors, he always looked after those around him -- tending to his "flock" with kindness, humor, and a steady presence that made people feel seen and valued. He is survived by his wife, Gina Hovis Crow; sons, Zane Crow (Carrie) and Seth Crow; step-daughters, Tamara Vead (Connor) and Brittany Bivins; sisters, Betty Crow Kennedy and Toni Crow; and brother, David Crow. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Brooklyn Vead and Camdyn "Madelyn" Vead, along with many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be announced once finalized.
