John Walter "J.W." Hunt



John Walter "J.W." Hunt, 84, of 123 Moriah School Rd., Casar passed away Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover.

Born June 7, 1930 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Julius Redford Hunt and Zulia Etta Painter Hunt. He was a retired driver for Carolina Freight after twenty-five years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was the Past Master of Casar Masonic Lodge #579 and also a member of Camp Call Masonic Lodge #534, 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Oasis Shriner, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 35th Masonic District, and
an honorary member of twenty other masonic lodges. Mr. Hunt also served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Coy Hunt, Herman Hunt, and Hubert Hunt, and one sister, Jo Reagan.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Elizabeth Carol Newton Hunt, three daughters and sons-in-law, Miranda & Jeff Willard of Casar, Robin & Tom Siegner of Charlotte, and Elizabeth & Arlan Bush of Shelby, sister, Pearlie Mae Hoyle of Polkville, four grandchildren, Amber Harrelson Montecuollo, Jonathan Willard, Shannon Siegner, and Amanda Willard; four great grandchildren, Alyssa Montecuollo, Averee Montecuollo, Kylee Goins and
Max Pickens.

Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday December 26, 2014 at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church, Casar with Revs. Robert Goins and Norris Willis officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.
