John Walter Kiehl, Sr.



Gaffney - John Walter Kiehl, Sr., 66, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on May 26, 2026. Born on November 08, 1959 to the late George Walter and Margaret Ferrell Kiehl., John was married to Michelle Gaffney Kiehl for 16 wonderful years. John was working as a Electrician and was an avid carp fisherman, known well at the local carp lakes.

In addition to his wife Michelle, John is survived by sons, John Kiehl Jr. (Ashley), of Boiling Springs, Adam Kiehl, of York; step-chlildren, Alisha McGaha, Tommy McGaha; sisters, Sharon Gibbs, Shannon Williford; brother, Jerry Kiehl; six grandchildren, Briley, Myles, and Adelyn Kiehl; and AJ, Aneisha, and Andyn Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Lea "Butterfly" Ellis, Koa Ellis; and his French Bulldog, Bodi.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kiehl was preceded in death by one brother, Chad Ferrell; and a French Bulldog, George.

A receiving of friends will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney.
