Joyce Ann Penner Wright, age 74 of County Line Road passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Atrium Health Charlotte. She was born December 26, 1946 in Gaston County to the late Lloyd Webb and Artie Beatrice Wells Penner. She was a member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church. She was formerly the secretary with Kevin Gray Machine Company in Dallas. Joyce loved to travel to the beach. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she loved spending time with them and her precious cat, JJ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roger Wesley Wright; and sister, Nancy Eaves.

Survivors include her son, Mark Wright and wife, Billie of Bessemer City; daughter, Tawana Wright and husband, Trent of Kings Mountain; grandsons, Zachary Wright (Kristen), Devin Wright (Cori), Stephen Wright (Allie), and Wesley Wright (Chloe); great granddaughters, Danica and Cambri Wright; and brother, Lawson Penner.

A Time of Remembrance will be held Sunday, January 3, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings and social distancing will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Renovation Fund, 5306 Dallas-Cherryville Highway, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
