Joyce Lanier Daniel, age 67 of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
She is survived by her children, Tiffany Newton and husband Matthew of Shelby, NC, and Kevin Ward and fiancée Renee Heberlig of Charlotte, NC, four grandchildren, Brandon, Allison, and Carmen Newton, and Elijah Ward, two sisters, Betty Bell of Shelby, NC, and Kathy Jones and husband Bobby of Shelby, NC.
Born April 10, 1948 in Lincolnton, NC, Joyce was the daughter of the late W.C and Laurene Champion Lanier.
Joyce was a devoted mother and Christian. She graduated from Crest High School and attended college at Gardner Webb and Limestone College then later earned her degree in Georgia. She worked as a Lab Technician at Ashley Women's Center in Gastonia for more than 16 years where she loved her job. She enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew her.
Memorial services will be held 6:30 Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Glenn Ward. A visitation will follow the memorial service at the funeral home.
