Joyce Williamson Spangler

Born in Cleveland County on June 19, 1932, she was a daughter of the late James Fontz Williamson and Bloomie Poston Williamson. She was an RN but her main job was taking care of her family. Mrs. Spangler was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher and was active in missions. She enjoyed being part of the Double Jolly's and tried to never miss a Sunday. She also was a volunteer for many activities in the community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Sumner.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Boyd Eugene Spangler, two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry & Patricia Spangler of Connelly Springs and Todd & Brenda Spangler of Lawndale, daughter & son-in-law, Wanda & Kenny Boggs of Shelby, one sister, Louise Elam of Shelby, six grandchildren, Ginger James & husband, Russell, Kristen Boggs, Brandon Spangler & financee Marah Nelson, Kellie Boggs, Abbey Strange & husband, Jonathan, and Justin Spangler, and one great grandchild, Jordan James.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00PM at Double Shoals Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Johnson and Mrs. Patricia Spangler officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
