Juanita Gunnells Blanton, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 at her home. She was born May 1, 1933 in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Robert Ivan and Lela Elizabeth Gladden Gunnells and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 75 years, Farchel Leggette Blanton, her son, Farchel Randy Blanton, and her four brothers. Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church and the Golden Fellowship group where she enjoyed spending time with friends. Juanita worked as an office assistant in medical practices, retiring from Gaston Internal Medicine in Gastonia, NC. She was a wonderful homemaker and wife to her husband, and devoted mother to her children. Juanita loved her family with her whole heart, especially her grandchildren whom she adored and cherished spending time with. She was a faithful friend to many. Juanita's memory will continue to warm the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

SURVIVORS: Daughter Leigh Ann Long and husband Bryan, her grandchildren Ian Blanton, Ethan Blanton, and Kristen Hersek (Joe), and her great-grandson Brylan Krew Hersek.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Mountain Rest Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Jason Mills with thoughts shared by Bryan Long, Kristen Hersek, and Reverend Brad Ellis

VISITATION: The family will speak with attendees immediately following the service at the cemetery and will gather at Juanita's home from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM following the service

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

MEMORIALS: Memorial may be made in Juanita's memory to First Baptist Church Golden Fellowship fund at 605 West Kings Street, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
