Ms. Juanita Starr James, 86, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC. She was born on March 27, 1940 in Gaston County, NC to the late Eudell Starr Bridges and the late Everette Williams.

In addition to her father and mother, Juanita is predeceased by a brother Bobby E. Starr and a sister Evelyn Starr Cumberlander.

She is survived by her beloved children, Stephanie Boyd-Rogers, Merrill Yvette Wilkerson (Lorenzo), Brian Kevin Boyd (Elaine); sisters Doris A. Starr and Lillian Duke; grandchildren, Joshua, Rallie IV, Dailyn, Zakhyla, Elijah, and Khira; great grandchildren, Zion, Joshua II, Nova, Sincere, and Dailyn; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Bessemer City, NC. Burial will took place at Sharon Memorial Park.
