Judy Bumgardner Gettys, 76, of Polkville, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on August 11, 1949, in Cleveland County and was a daughter of the late Oscar Harland and Fannie Lee Queen Bumgardner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Judy was a wonderful baker and enjoyed spending time at Lake James. She worked thirty years in food service at Cleveland County Schools and was a member of Polkville Baptist Church.

In addition, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua White; four brothers, Jerry, Ronnie, Lee Roy and Eugene Bumgardner; and three sisters, Brenda Bridges, Mary Sue Terry and Kathleen Hipps.

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of sixty years, Charles David Gettys; son, Brian Gettys of Polkville; daughter, Connie White and husband Paul of Polkville; two grandchildren, Cody White and wife Megan, and Colby White and Cassidy; and three great-grandchildren, Gatlin White, Amelia White, and Laya Ferrell.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Judy's caregivers, Shirley Bumgarner and Kathy Huffman and also all the hospice staff.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Polkvile Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Davis officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
