It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy Canipe Phillips, who departed this life on October 3, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on October 12, 1951, in North Carolina, Judy was a beloved wife, mother, and dedicated homemaker.

Judy was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. She was a volunteer with Cleveland County Hospice and Kings Mountain Senior Center and was very active in her church. She will be forever remembered for her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Throughout her life, Judy embodied kindness, love, and compassion, qualities that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Residing in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Coy Lee Phillips, and their beloved son, Robert Lee Phillips and wife Sandy, cherished daughter, Crystal Phillips Bess and husband Gary, brother Michael Ray Canipe and wife Penny. grandchildren are Tasha Panther(Justin), Amy Phillips (Kyle), Tyler Bess (Summer), Hali Etters(Lee) and Nathan Bess; and eight great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Robert Wray and Louise Starnes Canipe.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM, where we will gather to celebrate Judy's life and the enduring love she shared with her family and community. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Caulder.


Pallbearers are: Tyler Bess, Nathan Bess, Justin Panther, Lee Etters and Kyle Freeman, Feddie Dellinger.


Following the service, Judy will be laid to rest at Mountain Rest Cemetery, 111 S Dilling St., Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
