Judy Hoffman Barrett, 78, of Waco passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at White Oak Manor - Shelby in Shelby, NC.

Judy was born on March 4, 1947, in Cleveland County, and was a daughter of the late Loy Setzer Hoffman and Elizabeth Short Hoffman. She was retired from the NC DOT and was a member of Waco Baptist Church. She was also a former member of Shelby Rescue Squad.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Irvin Barrett; stepdaughter, Pam Barrett; and a brother, Larry Hoffman.

Judy is survived by a son Wesley Barrett of Waco; a daughter, Beth Leonhardt and husband Alex of Shelby; stepson, Glenn Barrett, Jr of Charleston; brother, Jerry "Pud" Hoffman and wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Erin Nanney and husband Heath, Easton Leonhardt, Emeri Leonhardt, Brooke Ward, Lillie Hinson, Tyler Boyes and Marian Versalko; and a great grandchild, Barrett Marie Nanney.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Efrid officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

A private burial will be held at Capernaum Cemetery.
