What: Free Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinics
When: 8:00 am until Noon, June 20.
Where: Burns High School, 307 E. Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, NC.
More Info: With 19 rabies cases reported in Cleveland County, local animal welfare organizations are joining forces to help protect pets and the community through a free vaccination and microchipping event. Clifford's Army Rescue (C.A.R.E.) and Cleveland County Animal Services will host a Free Microchip Clinic and Rabies Vaccine Clinic for Cleveland County pet owners. Please remember that rabies vaccinations are required by North Carolina state law for cats, dogs, and ferrets over four months of age. Please keep dogs on a leash and cats secured in a carrier. Officials say rabies vaccinations are a critical tool in preventing the spread of the deadly virus, helping to protect pets, families, and the broader community. Cleveland County Animal Services will administer rabies vaccines on-site at no cost. In addition to vaccinations, C.A.R.E. will provide free microchips for dogs and cats, with a veterinarian on-site to assist with the process. Microchips are widely recognized as the most effective method of reuniting lost pets with their owners. The quick and permanent identification system takes only seconds to implant and can significantly improve the chances of a pet returning home safely. Organizers encourage all Cleveland County pet owners to take advantage of these free services, particularly in light of the recent increase in rabies cases across the county.
