Saturday, June 6 What: National Trails Day Hike with the C.A.R.E. Dogs When: 10:00 am until Noon, June 6. Where: The Gateway Trail, 807 S. Battleground Ave., Kings Mountain, NC. More Info: Come help us celebrate National Trails day on June 6th! We will be there with some of our adoptable CARE dogs who just love to hike! Sign up to take a dog for a hike, short or long, whichever you prefer. Come back and socialize with some great dogs and people. It is going to be a great day! Sunday, June 7 What: Belwood Heritage Museum When: 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, June 7. Where: Belwood Heritage Museum, 133 Carpenter's Grove Church Rd., Lawndale, NC. More Info: On display are antique farm equipment and tools, furniture, household items, pictures, and numerous miscellaneous items of interest from rural life in the late 1800's/early 1900's, all donated by members of the local community. Admission is free.
Monday, June 8 What: Digging Dinosaurs! When: 10:00 am, June 8. Where: Spangler Branch Library, 112 Piedmont Drive, Lawndale, NC. More Info: Camden Cook, Local Studying Paleontologist. Have you ever wondered what paleontologists really do, what they find and how they work? In this presentation, you will hear first-hand from a local studying paleontologist about what is involved in the work and see some of the things he and other paleontologists have discovered. Come join us for an interesting and educational session to learn more about this very intriguing occupation.

Foothills Quilters Guild: Foothills Quilters Guild invites you to join us each month on the third Thursday at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 300 N. Lafayette St. in Shelby, NC. We welcome new members young and old to learn and share in the talents and knowledge of the art of Quilting. Our doors are open at 10am for open sew day.
