June Carolyn Stroup Davis, 89, of Shelby, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. She was born on April 16, 1937 in Gaffney, SC to the late Thomas Elzie Stroup and Minnie Louise Upchurch.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Brown Lee Davis, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

June graduated from Gaffney High School in 1955. She worked at Cone Mills, General Fireproofing, Doncaster-Tanner and Union Elementary School. June was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ, her family, church and community. She was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church where she faithfully attended and sang in the choir for 48 years before serving as Music Director and Sunday School Teacher at Sandy Mush Baptist Church for 12 years.

Her passion and enjoyment was singing. She sang alto in the Regents Quartet from 1968-1976 which included traveling most every weekend during those years to a local or distant church or school gym to sing Gospel Music. She sang through her later years in the church, with her son and grand-daughters and finally in the rest home to help brighten other's day.

June served and deeply loved Jesus Christ and her family! She is survived by her son, Richard Davis (Candace). She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cameron Davis Hardin (Garrett) and Connor Davis.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Cliffside Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Elgin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.

Private burial services will follow at Cliffside Cemetery
