Kathy Wellman Barrett, age 68, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at her home in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on July 25, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Carl Wray and Annie Gantt Wellman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Christopher Wellmon, Dennis Wellmon, and Joy Wellmon Gold and a son James Lee Barrett.

Kathy is survived by her Husband of more than 50 years Hubert Barrett, a brother Mike Wellmon, a daughter, Janice Elmore, two grandchildren, Jarica Elmore, Jacob Barrett, and five special great-grandchildren.

Kathy will be known for her love for family, time spent at the beach, and gardening in her yard.

Graveside service will be held 11:00am Monday, August 23, 2021 at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.
