On Friday, December 14th, the Kiwanis Club of Shelby held their annual Christmas party at Deer Brook Restaurant. Kiwanian Cathy Horton Hunt was responsible for the annual party and this year’s club President is Pam Issacs. Together they produced this very special event. Every year children from the James Home and Aaron’s House, plus other kids, are invited for a fun filled evening that includes a dinner, gifts, special entertainment and of course an appearance by Santa. Fifteen children from the Children’s Homes of Cleveland County attended this year’s party along with five other children in need. Several Kiwanis Club members’ children and grandchildren also were in attendance. Cathy and Pam said: “It is an honor to be a part of such a wonderful time. It’s a reflection of what Kiwanis is all about.”
