Kings Mountain Historical Museum's 14th Annual Reverse Raffle & Auctions took place recently, and Museum Board Members and staff are proud of the success of the event, which sold out at 300 tickets. Fundraising Chair Priscilla Mauney said, "We received many compliments on the event in general; everyone seemed to have a great time. Many of the guests got into the 1920s theme and dressed the part; we enjoyed having the photo booth and some special "surprises" as well. As always, Susan Patterson's décor and Keith Falls' catering were a big hit."
Museum President Susan Champion said, "The Museum owes special thanks to our event sponsors and in-kind donors for their generous contributions, and for the people who purchased tickets and auction items. We are also grateful to the City of Kings Mountain, and Sharon Eaker, Aging Program Director of H. Lawrence Patrick Senior Life and Conference Center, and their staff, for all of their assistance with this event. With tremendous community support, we were able to give away close to 50 high-quality raffle prizes, as well as the Grand Prize of $10,000, which went to Bob and Aimme Coleman of Kings Mountain. Most importantly, the Museum will have the operating funds to offer free educational exhibits and events for our community in the coming year."
The Museum's Fundraiser Committee has already begun planning for the 15th Annual Reverse Raffle & Auctions, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018.
