Laura Lee Wellington, 54, passed away peacefully Sunday August 20, 2023 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Born in Cleveland County on February 26, 1969, she was the daughter of Terry Mattison Lee and Hayden Sikes Soloway. Laura received her license in cosmetology and worked as a hairstylist in both Shelby and Charlotte. She was loved by all that knew her and will be remembered for her love of her family, golf, and her two white labs, Ranger and Bogey.

Laura is survived by her husband, John Wellington, her two sons Blake Willis (Emma) and Brynson Byrd, a daughter Brylee Scott (Cameron) and Step daughter Skylar Wellington. Also, left to cherish her memory is her brother Bart Lee, sister Brooke Harden and grandson Lane Willis.

A memorial service will be held for family and close friends at 3:30 PM Wednesday August 23, 2023 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Rauscher offering words of encouragement for those in attendance. The family welcomes all who shared their love for Laura to join them at a celebration of life honoring Laura's love for golf. This will be held at Deer Brook Golf Club starting at 5:00 PM following the memorial service.
