Laura McWhirter Webb, age 62 , of Huntersville, NC, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026. She was born March 5, 1964 in Shelby to the late Carl Owen McWhirter and the late Carolyn Spivey McWhirter.

Laura was kind and compassionate, having never met a stranger. She was energetic, joyful, and especially quirky. She had a passion for helping others. Her love language was cooking her famous meals for everyone, whether it was her Halloween chili or peach cobblers. No one went hungry when Laura was around.

She was known for having the best hugs. You could feel the love radiating from her as she hugged you. Laura loved everyone, especially her daughter, Bree, and beloved cat Ollie. She will be greatly missed.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Lauren Bree Joyner and husband Colby; Her brothers, Owen McWhirter (Melissa), Alan McWhirter (Lena), Colin McWhirter; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Thursday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tonya Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery at Shelby.
