Leonia Morrison Bradshaw
Leonia Morrison Bradshaw passed away on March 26, 2018 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.
Born May 30, 1924 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Morrison and Bessie Walker Morrison. She was a very dedicated employee and hard worker at both Cooksville Hosiery Mill and Century Furniture Company before her retirement. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Upper Cleveland County. She truly loved her Sunday School Class members at Zion Hill. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willard Jessie Bradshaw; sisters and brothers-in-law Vangie Buff (Howard), Ruby Sain (B.H.), Argel Canipe (D.H.), and brother Carmie Morrison.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cook and husband Ray of Belwood, Norma Brittain and husband Steve of Vale; two grandsons, Alan Brittain (Tara) of Charlotte and Scott Brittain of Honolulu, Hawaii; two great granddaughters, Alex and Claire Brittain of Charlotte; brother Donald Morrison of Vale; sister-in-law Viola Morrison of Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews. She dearly loved her family and especially the grandchildren.
She had a passion for gardening both vegetables and flowers and was especially fond of her beautiful spring pansies and colorful tulips. She loved to cook bountiful Sunday lunches which always included delicious desserts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm at Stamey and Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston. A memorial service will begin at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Allan Barlow officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cleveland Pines Nursing Center and Hospice of Wendover for their loving care.
