Mr. Leroy Clarence Sloan, 82, departed this life on January 19, 2026 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born on April 8, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Hubert Sloan and the late Lucille Simon Sloan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Sloan; sister in law, Linda Sloan; and brother in law, Hasker Stevenson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patricia Sloan of Shelby, NC, Anthony (Bonita) Sloan and Charlene Sloan, both of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Cooper of Shelby, NC, and Ebony Sloan of Hickory, NC; brothers, Will Sloan of Kingstown, NC and Namon Sloan of Gaffney, SC; sisters, Yvonne Dawkins of Gaffney, SC, Lorene Stevenson, Minnie (Jack) Howell of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Alexis Norris of Shelby NC, Anthony Sloan, II, of TN, Bryce Sloan of FL, Kendall (Kaylin) Sloan of SC, Jerica Brown of TX, Christian Woods of Charlotte, NC, Eboni Camp and Quinston Cooper both of Shelby, NC; and a host of great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services was held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12 noon at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel, Shelby, NC
