Linda Beth Quickel Whitworth, age 83, of Cherryville, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation. She was born September 16, 1942, in Lincoln County to the late David Hoke and Mabel Kiser Quickel. Linda was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was the former owner and operator of Heafner Brother's Wholesale in Cherryville. Linda spent many years as a caregiver to family members. She was such a loving and caring individual who always thought of others first. Linda was also very meticulous, organized, and kept everything written down. Being the thoughtful woman she was, she enjoyed mailing cards out to family and friends to send a note of encouragement and well wishes for all different occasions. She considered that part of her ministry and a way she could reach out to her community. She poured so much love into her family and had such a kind spirit that she shared with everyone she encountered.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jack Lyday Whitworth.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Dawn Whitworth and Hoke and Angie Whitworth; grandchildren, Hoke Whitworth Jr. (Traci), John Henry Whitworth, Emily Parris (Teeter), Molly Carpenter (Jon), Tanya Williams, Daniel Williams (Mindy), and Aimee Byrd (Mike); great grandchildren, Sophia Williams, Brady Whitworth, Tucker Whitworth, Oakley Parris, Jackson Carpenter, Shane Tompkins, Savannah Williams, Vera Byrd, and Willie Mack Byrd; sister, Nancy Kootz (Larry); and sisters-in-law, Dot Bradley and Nancy Whitworth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor G. Scott Homesley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
