Linda Irene Pennington Setzer, aged 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, peacefully embraced her eternal rest on January 9, 2026, after she gained victory over Alzheimer's disease. Born on December 2, 1942, in Cleveland County, NC, Linda was the cherished daughter of Frank and Estelle Gordon Pennington, both of whom preceded her in death. She now joins her beloved husband of 51 years, Don Setzer, along with her dear brother, Yates Pennington, and sisters, Florence Pennington and Martha Allen, in the embrace of eternal love. A founding member of Kings Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church--later known as Lighthouse Pentecostal Church--Linda's unwavering faith and devotion left an enduring mark on her community. She dedicated over 40 years of her life as a skilled seamstress at Mauney Hosiery, a job she cherished until its closing. An avid reader, Linda cherished the comfort of books, amassing a collection that spanned genres, with a special love for her Bible, Christian romance novels, and the beloved Little House on the Prairie series. She kept her mind agile, often found delighting in solitaire, word searches, and crossword puzzles. Linda was not just a homemaker but a cornerstone of her family. Her selflessness knew no bounds, always prioritizing the needs of her loved ones above her own. An accomplished cook, she shared the warmth of her kitchen, creating wonderful meals that brought family and friends together. Above all, Linda was an extraordinary mother and grandmother, whose heart overflowed with love for two generations. Her legacy of loyalty, guidance, and unconditional love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we reflect on Linda's remarkable life, we celebrate the beautiful memories she has left behind--echoing her spirit of kindness and devotion in all our hearts.
