Spartanburg, SC - - Linda Scism Sarratt Kunkle, of 110 Summit Hills Drive, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Mary Black Hospital.

Born on February 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late A.V. Scism and Mary Frances Davidson Scism. Mrs. Kunkle was a graduate of Gaffney High School. She lived in Shelby until 1971 when she and her late husband, Dean Sarratt moved to Gaffney. Linda graduated from the Charlotte Barber School in 1968, and worked for her father as a Barber in Shelby. In 1993, she and Dean, along with friends, Mike and Kaye Spearman, established their own Sign Company business in Gaffney. She later sold her portion of the business when she was no longer able to work.

In January of 2022, she met Jim Kunkle of Shelby, and they later married in December. Jim had also recently lost his spouse. They lived happily in Gaffney until they moved to Summit Hills Retirement Community of Spartanburg. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gaffney and was an active member of the Johnny Price Sunday School Class, and she and Jim enjoyed attending church there.

To her family and friends, she was known for her positive outlook on life, friendliness, and strong faith. She was always stylish, attractive, and had a pretty smile for everyone.

She is survived by her loving husband of 3 years, James Kunkle of the home, her sons, Allen Sarratt and his wife, Lisa of Blacksburg and Brian Sarratt and his wife, Pam of Gaffney; grandchildren, Abigail Rotton and husband, Jacob and Ella Sarratt, daughters of Allen and Lisa of Blacksburg; and many nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Molly. Mrs. Kunkle was preceded in death by a grandson, Blaine Sarratt, son of Brian and Pam Sarratt.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Roberson officiating.
