Kings Mountain - Mrs. Louise Abernethy Farnsworth, 88, joined our
heavenly Father peacefully on May 2, 2016, at the Testa Family Hospice House
in Kings Mountain, NC.
Louise was born in Lincoln County on February 20, 1928, daughter of the
late Sam and Bertie Belle Leonhardt Abernethy. She was a member of Second
Baptist Church of Cherryville. Louise graduated from Tryon High School.
She was employed by Bradington Young and retired at the age of 80. Louise
was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. She also enjoyed fixing hair for her
friends and spending time with her family and friends listening to music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving
husband Bill Farnsworth. Her sisters, Margaret Gilbert, Helen Hallman, Cora
Belle Smart, and Ruby Abernethy. Her Sons-In-Law Gerald Howell and Randy
Henderson, a nephew, John Abernethy and a niece June Smart.
She is survived by her children, Kay Henderson of Cherryville, David
Farnsworth and wife Barbara of Dallas, and Ellen Howell of Kings Mountain.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: Dawn Whitworth (Doug), and Allan Holt
of Cherryville, Brent Holt (Dawn) of Kings Mountain, Bill Farnsworth
(Jennifer) and John Howell (Louise) of Dallas, Damien Henderson (Trena)
Titusville, FL, and Justin Henderson (Brandie) of Lincolnton. She had 18
great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are two
sisters, Wanda (Jackie) Hammer of Lincolnton and Frances Womack of
Cherryville, a sister-in-law, Anne F. Haynes of Cherryville and a number of
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and other times at her
home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at
Second Baptist Church with the Reverend Jerry Lail officiating. The body
will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior the service.
Burial will be at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kim Womack, Kevin Womack, Wayne Gilbert, Steve Gilbert, Wayne Hager and
Roy Farnsworth will serve as pallbearers.

Vicky Huffman, Willie McCluney, Alice Towery, and Lynn Jones.
