Smyrna - Luther Darvin "LD" Alexander, 70, passed away Monday, March 16th, 2026, at Hospice and Community Care in Rock HIll, SC.

Born in York, he was the son of Elizabeth Stroup Alexander and the late Luther Burris "LB" Alexander. He formerly worked as a forklift mechanic in construction.

In addition to his mother, L.D. is survived by his daughter, Christine Alexander; his step-daughter, Amy Brady; his brother, Roger Alexander, and his grandson, Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his father, L.B. Alexander, and his brother, Ed Alexander.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Brother Mickey Mullinax and Rev. Daman Keels officiating. Interment will be at New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in York, SC.
