Marcel McWaine, affectionately known to many as (Frukey, Bug, Unc, Bruh, Fat Jaws, Mac, Pops, and Dad); was born on January 2, 1966 in Charlotte, NC, to Marshall McWaine and the late Hazella Miller. Marcel, at age 60, transitioned into his heavenly home on February 12, 2026 with his family and loved ones around him.

Macel was preceeded in death by his mother, Hazella McWaine; sisters, Ethel Cundiff and Elanda McWaine; brothers, Jimmy Lee Samuels and Micheal McWaine.

Marcel is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Debra McWaine; son, Marco McWaine; daughters, Brittany Miller and Jasmine Mitchell; father, Marshall McWaine; brother, Marshall McWaine; grandchildren, Za'Niya, Zion, Tamarus, Talayah, Za'Riyah and Kaice K; mother-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell; sister-in-law, Audrey Lee (Chris) and Phyllis Mitchell (Eric Truesdale); special nephews, Edward Samuels, Quincy McWaine and Dontae McWaine; special cousin, Eddie Singleton, but according to Marcel, Colonel Singleton; special friends, Jeff Walker, Eugene Butler, Corey Jones, Pamela Jackson, Mike Gutkowski, Drew Ham and Alexis Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Richmond Funeral Home, Charlotte, NC.
