Margaret Barrett Price, 80, of Lawndale, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby.

Born on December 26, 1945, in Cleveland County, Margaret was the daughter of the late Alvin Andrew Barrett and Jessie Blanche Self Barrett.

Margaret was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and a woman of many talents. She began her professional career as a beautician before following her desire to care for others by returning to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She dedicated more than 20 years of compassionate service to Cleveland Regional Medical Center before retiring.

A faithful and active member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Margaret valued her church family and the fellowship she shared with others. She had a creative spirit and a special appreciation for making things beautiful. Whether decorating her home, tending to her garden, or working on one of her many craft projects. She was especially talented in watercolor painting, and cross-stitching.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her five brothers, Marvin Barrett, James Bryan Barrett, A.J. Barrett, John Barrett, and Joe Barrett and sister, Sue Payne.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 61 years, Kenneth Horace Price; two sons, Matthew Price of Asheboro, and Shannon Price and his wife, Martie, of Fallston; her sister, Linda Wright and husband, Dale, of Shelby; and two cherished grandchildren, Caeleylaine Price and Mallory Price.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church, 112 New Bethel Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church, with Dr. Tim Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
