Margaret Estelle Philbeck Thomas, 96, formerly of 171 Moss Farm Road, Buffalo Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Viva Senior Living in Gaffney.
Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of the late Robert Thomas and daughter of the late Broadus Randolph Philbeck and Minnie Mae Moss Philbeck. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, retired from Magnolia Finishing, and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She loved her family, cooking, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by a son, Ron Thomas (Sylvia Mintz) of Clemson; a daughter, Susan Cartee of Blacksburg; a brother, Willis Philbeck of Florida; three grandchildren, Jason Cartee, Hannah Cartee Britt (David) and Mimi Thomas Wall (Conner); five great-grandchildren, Austin Cartee (fiancé Logan Richardson), Charisma Smith (Michael), Boone Cartee, Dylan Britt and Jasie Cartee; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Aydlotte Philbeck, Tommy Philbeck and Junior Philbeck, and two sisters, Alda Mae Grigg and Helen Grayson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until 12:00PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Johnson officiating.
