Marie Waters Johnson,85, of Harris Henrietta Road, Forest City, died Sunday January 6,2013 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 3,1927, a daughter of the late John Newton and Susan Elenore Hames Waters. She was a retired supervisor with Cone Mills Cliffside Plant, and a member of Cliffside Baptist Chruch.
 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Reid Johnson; and a brother Robert Waters.
 
She is survived by one sister Sarah Waters Russ, of Shelby; three sisters-in-law; Carolyn G. Waters, Ruby Parris and husband Leory, Colleen Johnson; nieces and nephews, Lisa Carter, Phillip Russ, David Waters, Pat Johnson, Peggy Hamrick, Joanne Fasolino, and Susan Carter.
 
Funeral Services will held 3:00pm on Wednesday, January 9,2013 at Cliffside Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Cliffside Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Sarah Russ, 1230 Westwood Drive Shelby, NC 28152
