Martha Lou Bostic Christenbury, age 76 Mt. Holly died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Crouse. She was born on May 5, 1939 in Gaston County to the late Fredrick O. and Holbert "Hob" Cooley Bostic. Martha was a member of Daystar Baptist Church. She taught school for 30 years in Gaston County, most of which was at Catawba Heights Elementary. She enjoyed reading, spending time at her beach house in Oak Island, and she adored her granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fredrick Bostic and Morris Bostic.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Christenbury Shuford and husband, Fred Shuford Jr.; granddaughters, Tiffany Shuford and Hannah Shuford; and sisters, Beatrice Stewart, Billie Barewald, and Mary Delores Bostic.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Daystar Baptist Church with Rev. Perry Huffstetler officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services.
