Cherryville - Martha Witherspoon McCombs, 74, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

Martha was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on September 1, 1946 a daughter of the late James Nevit Witherspoon and Annie Belle Sellers Witherspoon.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Witherspoon.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Dennis McCombs of the home; a son Paul McCombs and wife Julie of Loves Park, Illinois; two grandchildren, Kristiana Arnwine and Nathanael McCombs; one great granddaughter, Elaina Arnwine and a brother, Tom Witherspoon of Cherryville.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Peak Resources in Cherryville for the care they provided.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Witherspoon officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service.

Burial will be private.
