Marvin Atkin Grigg, Jr., 96, of Denver, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence.
Marvin was born on July 28, 1929 in Cleveland County, North Carolina to the late Marvin Atkin Grigg and Evelina Mae Lee Grigg. He was retired from Inter-Continental Corporation as vice president. He was a founding member of Assurance United Methodist Church in Huntersville. Marvin was a proud alumnus of Duke University.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Blanton Grigg and two brothers, Richard Lee Grigg and Thomas Spencer Grigg.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Karen Jowers (John) of Fairfax Virginia; son, Marvin A Grigg III (Nancy) of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; three grandchildren, John Jowers, Carrie Jowers Hall (Russell), and Helen Grigg; numerous nephews and nieces; two great grandchildren, Benjamin Hall and Samuel Hall.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Assurance United Methodist Church Huntersville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00AM at Assurance United Methodist Church with Rev. Josh Kurtz officiating. The family encourages guests to celebrate one of his passions by wearing Duke Blue.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Palm Tree Church Cemetery.
