formerly of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at White Oak Manor
in Shelby.
She was born in Cleveland County on February 25, 1924, to the late Cecil
Lattimore Eaker and Bessie Proctor Eaker. Ms Eaker was a graduate of Kings
College, Charlotte. She retired from Cummings Carolina as a bookkeeper after
30 years of service and Carolina Medical Center as a receptionist after 20
years of service. Ms. Eaker was a member of Kistler's United Methodist
Church and former president of the Charlotte Business Women's Club.
In addition to her parent Ms. Eaker is preceded in death by her sister,
Burleens Whisnant.
She is survived by two brothers, Garlan Eaker and wife Edith of Hickory and
Gene Eaker and wife Peggy of Lawndale; three sisters, Selma White of
Morganton, Wilma Towery and husband Ray of Lattimore and Dorothy Hendrick
and husband Hal of Shelby; a special niece and her children, Donna Lynn,
Caleb, Ellyn, Nolan and Hannah; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews
and cousins.
