Mary Frances Proctor Gantt, 84, of Vale, passed away on January 22, 2025 at the Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

Frances was born on April 01, 1940 in Cleveland County to the late Robert Calvin Proctor and Essie Heafner Proctor. She was a member of South Mountain Bluegrass Church, and loved fishing with family and watching her UNC Tarheel Basketball.

Addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joel Loyd Gantt and three siblings, Calvin Proctor, George Proctor and Eloise Stallings.

Frances is survived by her two daughters, Laura Patterson and husband Joey of Shelby and Lisa McWhirter and husband Mark; four siblings, Pearl Barrett of Lawndale, Betty Downs of Shelby, Vance Proctor of Lawndale, and Floyd Proctor and wife Arvalena; four grandchildren, Evan Dixon (Eleni), Ethan Dixon (Samantha), Sydney Jo Patterson, and Eli Patterson; and great grandchildren, Carter Dixon, Callan Dixon, and Leighton Dixon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:30 to 12:45 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy McKee officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston, NC.
