Mary Jane Helms Henderson
Monday, September 9, 2013 2:43 pm Mary Jane Helms Henderson, 92, of Shelby, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Hospice of Cleveland County. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Fannie Beaver and Frank Helms. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Simon William Henderson; a brother, Vance Mason; and sisters, Virgie Wilson, Pauline Beaver and Alice Beaver. Mrs. Henderson is survived by a special niece, Dorothy Reynolds of Lawndale, whom she raised as her daughter; and by a sister, Maggie Henderson of Shelby. Other survivors include brothers, Lee Beaver and Billy Beaver of Vale; a sister, Louise Buff of Shelby; and numerous other nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Kathy Smith of Shelby, who lived with her for the past four years. Funeral services for Mrs. Henderson will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, in the Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donald White officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30 until 2 p.m. in the Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County or a church of the donor’s choice. Lutz-Austell Funeral Home is serving the family.
