Mary Lou Warlick Davis
Mary Lou Warlick Davis, 93, of 337 Gold Street, Shelby, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Cleveland County, on March 14, 1923, to the late Walter Theodore Warlick and Lessie Lawrence Downs Warlick. Mrs. Davis was a talented seamstress who loved to sew, making her own wedding and bridesmaids dresses. She would make up to 25 garments a week and continued altering clothing until the age of 92. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shelby where she was in the Faith and Love Sunday School class. She also taught the 2nd graders Sunday school class for over 20 years.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband F. DeLane Davis; two brothers, Walter Warlick and Robert Warlick and a sister, Margaret Harbison.
She is survived by her son, Fred DeLane "Chip" Davis, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Shelby; daughter, Cindy Boyer and husband, Craig of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Ray Warlick of Vale and Troy Warlick of Casar; two sisters, Ceceila Miller of Lenior and Phyllis Miller of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Libby Zaludek, Joe Fite, Madison Boyer and Paxton Boyer and two great grandchildren, Jax Zaludek and Max Zaludek.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 2:30 PM, Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Shelby with Rev. Perry Holleman officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Sunset Cemetery.
