It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch Mary Louise Ivey Faile.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family Friday, August 14, 2026. A person of her caliber deserves nothing less and our family is grateful for a smooth transition into heaven. Louise was born on May 27, 1942, in Kershaw, SC to her parents Julie and Frank Ivey. Her unwavering dedication and boundless love and support will be a gift cherished by her family eternally. She was known for her fiery head and strong attitude. She lived her life in a straightforward fashion and was never an advocate of mincing words. Her life was spent caring for her family. She selflessly and single-handedly raised her five children. Mrs. Faile supported her family by working full-time in the textile industry, where she worked at the Myrtle Mill, TiCaro/Threads Plant, Dixie Yarns, and finally retiring from American & Efrid LLC after 30 plus years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by two of her sons: Roy Lee "Boot" Hegler and Jesse James "Little Man" Hegler; grandson, Nick Christmas Hegler; eight sisters and one brother; and her best friend, Shirley Peterson.

Louise was survived by her sister Lucille Chappell; her children Scottie Lynn "Shorty" Hegler (Rebecca), Tammie Renee "Sissy" Hegler, Sara "Monk" Wynn (Buddy), eleven grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, The Huffstetler family, numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends who all cherished her and will miss her deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to her service at the funeral home.
