SHELBY, N.C. - Mary Louise Moore White of Earl, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Born April 24, 1935, in Shelby, NC, Louise was the daughter of the late Buren Rhea Moore and Dixie May Grigg Moore. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, where she was known as a standout basketball player. Following high school, she contributed to the household by working alongside her father at American Thread in Clover, SC. In 1961, she married the love of her life, the late Uriel Gaither White.

Louise devoted her life to her family, raising her children with love and care. After her children were grown, she worked at Trade Street Eatery and later served as a chef at Cleveland Regional Hospital for nearly ten years. Known for her nurturing spirit, Louise was a devoted caregiver who lovingly cared for her mother, mother-in-law, and other family members over the years. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, whom she helped to raise and dearly loved to spoil; and her constant companion and beloved rescue dog, Frosty.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Uriel G. White; her brothers, Ben Moore, Tom Moore, Charles Moore, Eddie Moore, and Maynard Moore; her sister, Margaret Moore; an infant sister, Elanor Moore and her special aunt, Mary Lee Moore Borders.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (Nastia) White of Earl, NC, Mary Lynn (Neil) Welborne of Cornelius, NC, Amanda (Tee) Burton of Earl, NC, and Anna (Shannon) Sanders of Earl, NC. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Natalie White, Xander White, Trey Burton, Reed Burton, Chancey Sanders, Caden Sanders, Logan Mariner of Atlanta, GA, and Jack Mariner of Cornelius, NC. Louise is also survived by her sister, Susan Moore Jones of Shelby, NC and her niece who is like a sister, Patty Moore Clontz of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law Betty Moore of Charlotte, NC; brothers-in-law Dee Jones of Shelby, NC and Ray Clontz of Charlotte, NC; along with a multitude of nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, April 16, at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Earl, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
