Matthew Scott Lail
Matthew Scott Lail, 19, of South Magnolia Street, Forest City, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center as the result of an auto accident. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on October 27, 1993, a son of the late David Wayne Lail and Carol Chisholm Lail Womick and husband Robert Womick Jr. of Forest CIty. He was employed with the Town of Forest City Parks and Recreation Department and was a 2012 graduate of East Rutherford High School where he played Football. Matthew currently attended Isothermal Community College. He also attend Salem United Methodist Church.
In addition to his father, Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Ned Lail; his maternal grandfather, Larimer Lane Chisholm. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol Lail Womick and husband Robert Womick, Jr.; one step-brother, Robert Womick, III of the home; paternal grandmother, Patricia Lane Lail of Mooresboro; maternal grandparents, Ray and Kathy Schafer of Bostic; step-grandparents, Bob and Glenna Womick of Forest City; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and life-long friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church, Bostic with the Rev. Keys Pendleton and Laurie Knoespel officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
