Maxine Hoyle Biggers, age 89, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on January 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late L. V. and Nettie Wells Hoyle. Maxine was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church. Maxine retired from Reliance Electric after a number of years of service. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lowery Biggers; a son, Billy "Randy" Biggers; and a brother, Gene Hoyle.

Maxine is survived by a daughter, Susan Biggers Whisnant and her husband John of Shelby; four grandchildren, Christopher Biggers and wife Heather, Lauren Biggers, Will Whisnant, and Noah Whisnant; two great grandsons, Weston and Wyatt Biggers; and three sisters, Joyce Bolin and husband Max, Pat Chapman, and Grace Crawford and husband Louis all of Kings Mountain; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Biggers of Grover, and Betty Hoyle of Kings Mountain.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm at El Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Julie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the fellowship hall.
