Melda Jean Caldwell McClain, 77, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Monday, December 11, 2012.She was a native of Lauren's County, SC and a daughter of Levi and Vennie Silvers Caldwell.  She was a home maker and a member of The Eastern Star.

In addition to her parent, she is preceded in death by her husband, Adolphus Grady McClain.
She is survived by her son , Dennis McClain and his wife Kay of Ellenboro, Darral McClain and fiancee Patricia Marston of Boiling Springs, SC, Dale McClain and wife Lisa of Lawndale; sister Myrtle Harris of Newberry, SC; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. David Hawkins officiating.

Memorials may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church Van Fund, 1507 Oak Grove Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.

McKinney Landreth and Carroll are serving the family.
