Mrs. Merlean "Ms. Jack" Wray Carson, 82 departed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby, NC. A native of Cleveland County, NC, she was born on June 14,1944 to the late Cofford and Ida Wilson Wray.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Tammy Wray Downs and Barbara Wray Cunningham; mother in law Jimmie C. Bruno; step-daughter Trina Alexander Akins; four brothers, Willie Wray, John Wray, Randolph Wray, and Robert Wray; five sisters, Beulah Cannon, Mae Charles Ross, Vinnie Johnson, Betty Jo Wray, and Dorothy Lee Hall.

Left to cherish fond memories of her are her husband of 37 years, Jimmy Carson; son, Wayne Wray; daughters, Kim Hamilton (Larry) and Trudy Camp (Bengie); step daughter, Kisha Rivera (Jesus) of Humble, TX; sister Helen Banner; brother Sherwood Wray; brother in law James Bruno of Anderson, SC; sister in law Betty Taylor (Freddie) of Decatur, GA; twelve grandchildren, Nakisha Wray, Shevonda Wimbush, Reggie Wray, Princess Hoey, Darryl Montgomery Jr. , Quinton Wray, Wayne Wray, Jr, Kellie

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Walls Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
