Shelby. Mickey Lee Humphries, born on February 28, 1953, in Rutherford County, embarked

on his final journey peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Cleveland County, at the age of 73. A

beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Mickey leaves behind a legacy of

love, dedication, and an unyielding zest for life.

Mickey retired as a volunteer firefighter, a position he held with immense pride and dedication,

showcasing his unwavering commitment to serving and protecting his community.

He was a maintenance tech in the industrial sector, where he was known for his strong work

ethic and friendly demeanor.

His passions in life were as varied as they were vibrant. Mickey had a deep love for drag racing,

an enthusiasm that never wavered. He found joy in washing cars to a shine and attending car

shows, where he marveled at both the beauty and power of the vehicles on display. His love for

cars extended to his collection of model cars, in which he found joy in building, and working on

some of his own prized vehicles.

Mickey thrived in the outdoors, spending countless hours under the open sky, whether it was

playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren or simply enjoying the serenity of nature.

Family was the cornerstone of his life, and his heart was fullest when surrounded by his

children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love for his dogs was evident to all who

knew him, and they were as much a part of his family as anyone else.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Sharon Humphries; parents Horace Sr. and Jesse

Humphries; and brother Horace Jr. Humphries. Mickey's memory will be forever cherished by

his sister Becky Rabb his sons Tracy S. Humphries and his wife Tracy W., Jeremy Humphries,

and daughter Melissa Bridges and her husband Andy. His spirit lives on in his grandchildren

Kelsey Humphries and partner Josh, Sierra Ledford and her husband Chase, Dawsun

Humphries, Will Bridges and his partner Skylar, Emmalin Bridges, Koleby Bridges, Ryan

Humphries and his wife Lauren, Garret Humphries and partner Julianna, Kaitlin Godfrey, and

Chase Pearson. Mickey is further survived by his great-grandchildren Easton Holland, Aidyn

Holland, Huxlin Bridges, Iris Humphries, Waylyn Humphries, Everlee Humphries, Jaxon Ledford,

and Grayson Ledford. He is also remembered by his dear family Allen Grant and his wife

Wanda.

The Humphries family will have receiving friends starting at 1pm, and Celebration of Life

ceremony to follow, Saturday, April 4th at Flint Hill Baptist Church 2207 Flint Hill Church Rd. Shelby, NC

28152 allowing friends and loved ones the opportunity to come together in remembrance of a

man who lived fully and loved deeply. Mickey's legacy is one of courage, kindness, and a

profound appreciation for life's simple joys. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by

all who had the privilege of knowing him.
