Milas Efird Wilson


Milas Efird Wilson, 82, of 205 S. Shelby Street Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 18th, while in the company of family members, at his residence.
A native of Kings Mountain, NC he was the son of late Milas Leroy and Nellie Sims Wilson and husband of the late Barbara Wilson.
\Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corp, he served our country during the Korean Conflict.
He was retired from Doran Textiles, Inc. Mr. Wilson was a member of Broad River Baptist Church, Blacksburg. He enjoyed fishing, front porch sitting, hummingbirds and traveling.
Mr. Wilson was blessed with a large family who will miss him greatly. They include 3 sons; Keith Wilson (Sandra), Larry Wilson (Rita), both of Blacksburg, Darrell Wilson (Melanie) of Fallston, NC. His daughters include Glenda Cook (Bobby) of Gaffney and Melissa Robertson (Jeff) of Blacksburg. He had 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Special friends include, David Collins and Jared Broome who visited and checked on Milas often.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by brothers; Sam, Bill, Jimmy, Graham, Odel, Mitch, Charles, Abe (Tootsie) Wilson, a daughter, Gail Peterson, 2 sons; David Eugene and Timothy Wayne, daughter in law, Kay Wilson, son in law, John Peterson and grandson, Charles Ray Peterson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 23 from 3:00pm - 4:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4:00 with Rev. David Collins officiating burial will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving are Larry Wilson, Darell Wilson, Keith Wilson, Sam Wilson "Turp", Hunter Robertson, Dean Wilson, Bradley Morgan and Willam Wilson "Willie".
