Mildred Black Kneessi, age 68, of Boyles Road, died April 26, 2015 at her residence. Mildred was born November 1, 1946 in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late David Fred and Bertha Ellen Neal Black. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 9816, Kings Mountain.

Survivors include her husband George Judson Kneessi of the home, a daughter, Beverly "Dabbo" Smith of Lincolnton, two sons, Richie Smith (Lisa), of Lincolnton and Greg Smith (Misty) of York, South Carolina.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
